Spa & Self-Compassion Retreat
Our successes and failures come and go - they neither define us nor do they determine our worthiness. - Kristin Neff, PhD
What is it?
Spa & Self Compassion is a three hour interactive retreat integrating the benefits of sauna and cold plunge (also known as the nordic cycle or contrast therapy) process and learning principles and practices of self-compassion based on the work of Dr. Kristin Neff, the foundational researcher on Self-Compassion.
We are notoriously hard on ourselves
Interestingly, the tendency to be less compassionate with ourselves than anyone else is a universal human experience. It can also be a fairly detrimental one. Our physical and mental health suffer, relationships with others are impacted, and a sense of peace and happiness are hard to come by when we treat ourselves poorly.
what will we learn?
You will learn and practice exercises to promote a compassionate relationship with yourself. Between sauna and cold plunge/cold shower cycles, attendees will participate in discussion and journaling exercises to promote and integrate self-compassion exercises. These exercises will be easy to replicate in your daily life to move toward healing and peace in your inner life.
